Rupert from, Bambrella, got in touch with me in late 2014. He wanted me to to CAD model an
aluminium extruded frame, for a parasol that could take winds of 90km/hour.
All the jointing components are injection molded. They consist of 8 unique molded parts. All of the assembled umbrella’s , were tested in wind tunnels, in order to, ensure the ‘hurricane proof’ label was worthy. Rupert is now selling umbrellas in volume via his parasol supplies distribution business.
We are still in contact to this day! I have helped him produce many of his other products, through CAD modelling, bill of materials construction drawings and cutting lists. The products include a range of garden tables and development for the next Bambrella aluminium extruded umbrella.
