Reverse Engineered Cad Model – Cutting machine

I was contracted to make a basic 3d model of the exterior 1:1 scale of duplos large printing and cutting station machine.

I was contracted to make a basic reverse engineered cad model of the exterior 1:1 scale of duplos large printing and cutting station machine. The purpose was to display the 3d model at trade shows. In particular, when they hadn’t been able to purchase enough floor space for all their machinery.

Furthermore, they constantly have pitches schedueled, to aquire new customers. Moreover, at the time, they were using powerpoint which now has a reverse engineered cad model plugin. This allows the user to show the actual 3d model in the pp presentation.

These bits of marketting content are extremely valueable, given the cost of their machines. So Peter (head of design at Duplo) asked me to come on site. With the aim, to measure their machine and model a basic low detailed version.

Initially, I was given 2 days to measure and model the machine, extra half day to render. In short, Peter was very impressed with the amount of work done in just the 2.5 days.  Moreover, we are currently discussing doing this for a large range of their machines. Although, this is not a usual project for me, it was great speed modelling practice.
